The most complete guide to Southern Nevada's mining history.

Southern Nevada Mine is located Southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest town is Searchlight, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: Gold, copper, lead, silver, and zinc.

We haven't even descended into the mine and this is already my favorite mine in Searchlight, NV just because of all the standing structures and equipment still in place.  Being so close to a major road, I was expecting graffiti and other forms of vandalism, but it's surprisingly untouched.

We were able to locate a large incline shaft and two collar shafts in the hills beyond the mill and cabin.  Several winches scatter the property along with a ceiling hoist and a small kiln.  It's worth the drive even if you aren't getting underground (Don't go underground.) and being so close to a major road a 4WD vehicle is not required.  Any car would have enough ground clearance for you to enjoy this mine.
