Rand Mine is located South East of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest town is Nelson, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: copper, lead, silver, gold and zinc.

There is plenty to see at the Rand Mine.  We initially mistook this as the Eldorado Rand Mine which is above the Rand Mine.  The names are similar and adjacent to each other, but the mines are listed as independent of each other. We were able to locate five open portals to this mine in the lower valley.  What appeared to be a water dam up the valley was just a platform separating the two mines.
