The most complete guide to Southern Nevada's mining history.

Pompeii Mine is located Southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest town is Searchlight, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: Gold, copper, lead, silver, and zinc.

The USGS lists this mine as a surface and underground producer, but we were unable to locate any open portals or collars.  We found records indicating that this mine has been listed as a past producer with different owners.  Underground hard rock mining is dangerous and expensive.  It's likely that this mine began as an underground producer, but was converted to a safer, higher yielding surface mine later.
