Primary Mining: Gold
Secondary Mining: Silver

Nugget of Gold Mine is located South East of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest town is Nelson, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: gold, silver, lead, copper and zinc.

This was another accidentally found mine.  While detouring around deep, loose sand, we found this mine that was not on our primary maps.  After a little research, we found two claims at this location.  The original prospect was named the "Gold Nugget Mine".  When production increased, the name was refiled as "The Nugget of Gold Mine".

This mine is located in a small valley and surrounded by much larger mines.  There are about half a dozen small prospect portals in the valley and one larger collar shaft that is partially covered by a concrete slab that has shifted leaving it only partially sealed.

What you see here in the pictures is about all there is to see at this mine.  Not really worth a trip by itself.
