The most complete guide to Southern Nevada's mining history.

Fredrickson Mine is located South of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest towns are Jean, Nevada,  Goodsprings, Nevada  and Sandy Valley, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: copper, lead, silver, gold and zinc.

We have an interior map of this mine from when there were plans to covert it to a fallout shelter.  Using this map we were able to navigate easily to the lowest levels where we found a partially detonated working face.  In a single hole, we saw the back end of an undetonated stick of dynamite.  It is too dangerous to remove an undetonated stick wedged into a pilot hole, so the working face was abandoned.

This mine also followed a thrust fault along an incline shaft.  There is a stoped area about halfway down that is unstable and collapsing.
