The most complete guide to Southern Nevada's mining history.

Crystal Pass Prospect is located South of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nearest towns are Jean, Nevada, Goodsprings, Nevada and Sandy Valley, Nevada. Primary mining in the area included: copper, lead, silver, gold and zinc.

We intentionally overlooked the Crystal Pass Prospect because it is registered as only a prospect.  A prospect shows signs of mineral deposits, but was never advanced to an actual mining site.  After passing this mine for several months, we finally stopped and were surprised at the structures, many levels and depth of this mine.  This prospect does have a few very loose, open collar shafts, so best to stay out.

We've since returned a few times to locate the lowest levels.  From what we've been able to survey, there are three levels to this mine.  One up and one down.  There isn't much to see on any of the three levels.  What you see in the pictures below is the best the mine has to offer.

Sadly, this mine has since been sealed using a foam process.  This closure occurred fairly recently.  Within the last few months of 2015. As far as we know, these are the only internal images of the Crystal Pass Mine available.  No new images of the interior will become available.
